Michael Krantz, P.E., LEED AP-ND
I am a transportation, land use and real estate expert based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. My professional career has spanned the public and private sector with roles as a consultant, an urban planner and a development analyst. My professional roles and my personal interests focus on the relationship and the interactions between transportation and land use.
Just as the street car, the automobile and the highway before it, the autonomous vehicle promises to fundamentally alter the relationship between transportation and land use. Given that, I strive to understand how our theories of transportation, land use, planning, economics, psychology, business, etc. can help us anticipate and prepare for the impacts of this new technology. For the past five years I have been studying and sharing the implications of autonomous vehicles. This website is an attempt to share what I’ve learned with a broader audience.
